Meet the Team


Dr. Tom Sant
Founder and Board Member

For more than 30 years, Dr. Tom Sant has provided thought leadership and innovation to the field of proposal writing. Tom is the author of Persuasive Business Proposals, now in its second edition and available in Russian and Korean as well as English. The most widely used book on proposal writing in the world, Persuasive Business Proposals revolutionized the way companies and individuals handle the task of writing proposals. His new book, The Giants of Sales, traces the development of modern sales methods, relating them to the psychological principles that make them work. Tom retired from active management of The Sant Corporation in 2003, but he remains a member of the Board of Directors and continues to support the company by speaking, handling occasional consulting and training assignments, and contributing to the strategic direction of the company. Tom was named one of the Top Ten Sales Trainers in the World in 2005 by Selling Power magazine, and was named one of the first Fellows of the Association of Proposal Management Professionals in recognition of his lifetime contributions to the profession. Tom received his M.A. and Ph.D. in English from UCLA and taught at the University of Cincinnati for four years. More on Tom Sant

Lewis Miller
President

Lewis Miller (Lewie) is a 25-year veteran of the software industry. As President of The Sant Corporation he is responsible for the company’s overall development and growth. Lewie was Chief Executive Officer of Synergistics, Inc. from 1996 to 2001 where revenues grew from $800,000 to $8 million. During that time, he developed segment-leading CRM and Knowledge Management software products. Prior to Synergistics, Lewie held the President/CEO position at The Future Now, Inc. where he grew revenues from $3 million to $800 million and actively participated in the company’s IPO. He has also held sales and sales management positions with IBM. Lewis’s educational background includes an M.B.A. in International Economics and a B.S. in Finance, both received from Bowling Green State University.

David Blume
Vice President, European Operations

As VP European Operations, David is responsible for sales and service delivery to Sant’s customers in the UK and mainland Europe. David brings 20 years of international sales and operational management experience to Sant gained in the enterprise software solutions space, working in the UK, US and Australia. For the past 6 years David has specialized in the field of sales effectiveness in areas such as compensation management and proposal automation. Prior to moving into the software sales arena, David was a technical consultant developing and implementing HR systems.

Mark Clower
Vice President, Finance & Administration

Mark Clower, a CPA and CMA, brings over 20 years of senior financial and management leadership experience to Sant. Currently, Mark has responsibilities for Sant’s financial, administrative and legal functions. Prior to joining Sant, Mark held senior financial positions with Cohesia Corporation (software and services provider). He has also held senior financial positions within manufacturing and distribution industries. Mark's professional career started with Price Waterhouse & Co. Mark’s educational background includes an M.B.A. from The Ohio State University and a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati.

William A. Geers
Vice President, Operations

William Geers (Bill) has over 30 years of experience in the information technology industry. He started his career with IBM in 1975. In 1982 he started his own information technology company, which offered a variety of services including custom application development. After selling this company, Bill joined Cincom Systems Inc., one of the world s largest privately held international software companies, and became the General Manager of Trans-Atlantic Sales for the Advanced Technology Group. Most recently, Bill was the Chief Operating Officer of Streamline Health. Throughout Bill’s career he has focused on enhancing operating results through a passionate focus on customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness and efficiency. Bill has a degree in Marketing from Xavier University in Cincinnati.

Keith Norrie
Vice President, Product Management

Keith Norrie has overall responsibility for the direction and evolution of the Sant’s products. Keith works closely with Sant’s client base to understand their needs, and creates the product plans employed by Sant’s development team in the ongoing development of our software. Appointed to his role in January 2008, Keith has relocated to Sant’s corporate headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. For the past nine years, Keith had responsibility for Sant’s operations in the United Kingdom and continental Europe. In his career with Sant, Keith has been responsible for selling and project-management, delivering Sant products and consultancy services to dozens of UK and European clients, including HSBC Bank plc, BT plc, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, and ING Bank NV. Keith's professional career started with Price Waterhouse & Co in London. He has also held senior sales roles within both the engineering and financial services sectors. He holds an honors degree in Engineering with Business Studies from the University of Portsmouth.

Brian D. Vass
Vice President, Marketing

Brian, a ten-year veteran of the company, is responsible for all Sant marketing. He oversees demand creation, public relations, sales operations, event management, and corporate identity. Brian’s expertise includes B2B marketing, marketing communications, event management, and online marketing. He is involved in Cincinnati’s volunteer community as a board member for iSPACE and a committee chair for the ATP Masters Series tennis tournament. Brian holds a B.S. in Finance and Marketing from Miami University (Ohio).
